Financial performance in the mid-1960s
Derwent's last annual accounting period for the 1950s saw turnover of £28,880 and net profit of £3,862.
In 2017 this equates to around £630,000 in turnover and £84,000 in profit.
Activity then ramped up via a combination of the acquisitions described on previous pages and the launches of documentation services:
January 1963: Farmdoc
July 1964: Ringdoc
January 1965: Agdoc
January 1966: Plasdoc
Annual figures, together with their modern equivalents, approximately, were as follows:-
Note that the 1966 figures were projections compiled in late 1965. It is believed they were exceeded, but no firm record remains.
(RPI index figures at the end of each of these three years were respectively: 14.43, 15.08 and 15.63. At mid-2017 the RPI index was 273)
